Our low cost, environmentally friendly recycling scheme, covers Torbay and the eastern side of the South Hams. The scheme has been established for over 10 years. The material is taken to our composting site near Totnes, shredded, turned and screened. When the process is complete the compost is spread onto organic farm land that provides food and wine for your table. This is how the scheme works:

When you join you purchase some handy SDL Garden Bags to collect your green waste as you garden. We currently have a special offer for new customers, buy one bag, get one free! You also purchase a ticket that pays for 20 bag empties. When you need the waste taken away, just call the SDL collection line (01803)834687 .  We visit on a regular basis, empty the bags, punch the ticket for the number of bags you have put out then return your bags for re-use.
